the feelings book tag

Hi everyone!

I hope everyone is having a lovely August. I was recently tagged by Naemi @ A Bookowl’s Corner to do the feelings book tag and I absolutely loved the prompts she provided so I knew I had to do the tag. Thank you so much for tagging me!! Definitely check out her post and answers!

The Rules:

  • Thank the blogger who nominated you and give a link to the blog.
  • Answer the 5 feelings given to you.
  • Write the reason in 5 to 6 lines of why does that particular book come under that feeling.
  • Nominate between 5-12 other bloggers.
  • Give your nominees 5 feelings too.
  • Notify your nominees once you’ve uploaded your post.

Also, I’m trying out different things on photoshop with the book graphics, so let me know what you think of them please!

Loathing: The first book you would burn if you were stuck in a blizzard and books were the only flammable material you had on hand

Fallen by Lauren Kate

Title: Fallen
Author: Lauren Kate
Publication date: Dec 8th 2009
Genre: Fantasy, Romance

Without a doubt the Fallen series.

I read the books back when I was around 16/17, and I know even then I disliked the books but had a strange fascination with seeing how the books ended (I never finished the series though). I cannot believe I spent so much time hate-reading it and never want to look at those books again.

Despair: A book that had you sobbing your eyes out

The Ghosts We Keep

Title: The Ghosts We Keep
Author: Mason Deaver
Publication date: June 1st 2021
Genre: Contemporary, LGBT+

The most recent book that made me sob so much was The Ghosts We Keep.

I cried multiple times while reading the book, it was so beautifully written and spoke so much about grief and what its like to lose a family member. I’m pretty sure I had to lie down after I finished just to think about it and cry some more.

Schadenfreude: A book in which a character who had it coming finally got what they deserved

Crooked Kingdom

Title: Crooked Kingdom
Author: Leigh Bardugo
Publication date: Sept 27th 2016
Genre: Fantasy, Adventure

First of all, I love this word and English really needs a word for this.

Second, I think I have to say Crooked Kingdom. I can’t exactly go into why because spoilers but it was soooo good to see a certain character get his comeuppance at long last. It was so well deserved, and the wait was worth it to see justice be served to be quite frank.

Envy: A character you would like to trade places with

PJO

Title: Percy Jackson & the Olympians (The Lightning Thief)
Author: Rick Riordan
Publication date: March 1st 2006
Genre: Fantasy

hmmm this is a tough one.

I think one character I’d love to swap places with, just for a little while, is Percy Jackson. I mean, imagine being able to have his abilities, and wield a cool sword like that?? Do I want to relive my angsty teen years? Not really. But do I want to spend a fun chaotic summer at Camp Half-Blood? Absolutely.

Honestly, I’d probably be willing to trade places with almost any of the camp half-blood kids during summer time to spend some time in the camp having fun (definitely not during the academic year when I have to worry about monsters coming after me).

Love: A book you will keep shoving in everyone’s faces, no matter how hard they might try to resist

Love From A to Z

Love from A to Z!!!! I adore this book so much.

I don’t even read m/f romance books that much but I love this one so so much and will continue to scream it from the rooftops. Thinking about the book fills me with so much joy. It was one of the first books I read in 2020 and it made me fall in love with reading all over again.

    1. thank you so much ashmita!!

The Fallen series was… not great haha. I’m never one to say don’t read a book just because I didn’t like it, but I will tell you I dnf’ed Beautiful Creatures because it gave me similar vibes to Fallen so I didn’t enjoy it 💀 and I totally understand why you’d choose it for the burning book question!!

  2. Thanks a lot for tagging me, Saima! Your graphics look amazing! I can’t wait to try out some for my post as well! Also, I’m glad I’m not the only one who couldn’t stand ‘Fallen’! That book just annoyed me so much. And yep, I would definitely love to trade places with Percy Jackson! I have always wanted to be a demi-god!!!

  3. I loved your take on the questions, Saima, and gosh, please teach me your graphics skills!!! These look positively stunning! 🤩🤩🤩

I also think I have a very good idea of which Crooked Kingdom character you’re referring to, and agree that their fate was extremely satisfying 😂 And yes, I want to go to Camp Half Blood! Knowing how to sword-fight would be epic, as would playing capture the flag, roasting smores on that campfire or staying in one of those super cool cabins… 🤗 But without being in danger of my friends and me constantly dying, please!!

ahh omg yes, learning how to sword fight, all the fun games etc, at camp half-blood would be so cool, just not the constant danger 😅
